I’m supposed to have oral surgery for dental implants in December, but I haven’t shared with my surgeon that I’m on methadone. I keep hesitating because when I told them I had been on Suboxone, they didn’t take it well. I’m afraid if I admit I’m still on methadone, they’ll refuse to do the procedure. Tell your surgeon that you are currently on methadone. Your safety depends on it. Knowing the dosage and frequency allows the surgeon to adjust sedation properly and to prevent complications during surgery.
